Stuck on pause

So I got killed by a Thargoid, I switched my phone off, but now when I go back to the game I get a message telling me the game is paused. When I tap the screen I see the ship that destroyed me flying around, but I cannot do anything.

I have closed the app, powered off my phone, taken the battery out, booted into safe mode and cleared the cache, cleared the cache in the game. The last 2 options I know of are to delete the game files or uninstall and then reinstall. Any other thoughts?

Help...

Hey,

I have received this bug report once before, but -- so far -- I have not been able to reproduce the behavior on my phone.

However, there is a work-around: Delete the file <phone>/Android/data/de.phbouillon.android.games.alite/files/current_state.dat

When you restart the game, it will resume from the Ship Intro Screen and you can load your last saved commander.

I'll investigate further...

Same problem

I've also experienced this problem today. My ship was destroyed (by a Cobra Mk III). I immediately switched to another app on my phone. Subsequently I switched the phone off. Later, after restarting the phone and opening Alite, I had the pause screen. On touching the screen, I was able to watch the Cobra Mk III fly into the distance and another ship cross the screen, but nothing else. Your workaround has worked for me also. I'm using a Sony Xperia Z3 (model D6603), running Android 5.1.1, build 23.4.A.1.264

Hmm. Really weird. I wish I could reproduce this... Thanks for the detailed description, though. Maybe I find something....
